Having the best of Italian hand- ball for three days on the “Pala Lo Bello” court in Syracuse was an extraordinary opportunity to show the best face, not only of an area but of a whole region, with as ideal testimonials the athletes in the challenge to win the Italian rosette, all filmed by Sky Sport. The collateral events were also very important, such as the technical seminar by the Portland Valderrivas of Pamplona coach, “Zupo” Equisoain, highly appreciated by the participants. The public also attended all the matches in very large numbers. There were also important guests, such as the President of the Portland Valderrivas of Pamplona, Miguel Gallaraga, and the Director of Institutional Relations of “Cementos Portland Valderrivas” who is also Chairman of the “European Ready Mixed Concrete Organization” (ER- MCO), José Ramón Bujanda Sáenz as well as, obviously, the President of the F.I.G.H. (the Italian Handball Federation), Francesco Purromuto
The National Day of Sport was held in Siracusa on Saturday, 31st May 2008. It attracted a large public of children, adults and the elderly, with the aim of diffusing sport and its values. The Associazione Sportiva Albatro, the handball team sponsored by the TEAMNETWORK group, organized a friendly match between the under 14s. For the occasion, TEAMNETWORK set up a desk to present its initiatives in the social sector and in sport, through the professional players of Albatro, with the aim of involving young people interested in this discipline.
