Limestone production in this quarry has reached about 1,000,000 tons/year in recent years, and the same production volume is planned for 2009.
The approved limits in the area of extraction reach 7.5 million m3 in the solid state, which means 20,000,000 tons of mineral stock which will be sufficient for the next 15/20 years.
Due to stringent environmental requirements, the extraction method has been changed: 80 % of the technology is now mechanized and blasting methods have been reduced to a minimum.
Particular attention will be paid to the crushing phase with a further reduction of negative effects on the environment. To this end, the collaboration between Teamnetwork and Cmcelje will produce a new environmentally friendly crushing plant.
