TEAMNETWORK Albatro Siracusa write a historic page in Sicilian sport, bringing the Coppa Italia back to Syracuse after thirty years. A success that goes beyond the sporting result and crowns a project built on vision, sacrifice and a sense of belonging.
Syracuse, as President Vito Laudani pointed out, has never left the elite of Italian handball. Today, though, is the day of the Coppa Italia. A milestone that gives the city and the whole of Sicily the place they deserve in the national landscape of this sport.
A project built on expertise and determination
President Laudani wanted to highlight the teamwork that made this extraordinary result possible.
From General Manager Gabriele Di Stefano, who guided and developed the ambitious sporting project with tenacity and perseverance, to head coach Mateo Garralda, an icon of world handball, who placed his experience, expertise and determination at the club's service, through to assistant coach Lorenzo Martelli, whose daily work of analysis and preparation was essential to reaching goals of this level.
Alongside the playing squad, the contribution of the management staff – Fabio Reale, Marco Bellavia, Andrea Cuzzupè, Angelo Mincella – and of the medical staff, with Dr Salvo Costa and physiotherapist Ivano Denaro, together with the work of press officer Prospero Dente, were essential pillars of a winning journey.
A community project
One key idea comes through strongly in the President's words: TEAMNETWORK Albatro Siracusa is far more than a team. It is a community project.
The support of the Teamnetwork group, Main Sponsor and strategic partner, has been fundamental: it believed in and invested in a sporting path capable of generating deep values, namely commitment, discipline, respect and a sense of responsibility.
Also decisive were the support of the partner companies, the youth movement with its coaches and officials, and the warm backing of the fans who followed the team all the way to the Play Hall in Riccione with passion and pride.
A milestone that opens new horizons
"Today we reach a great milestone, one we wanted badly and deserved, but we are not stopping here," said President Laudani.
The Coppa Italia is a point of arrival but, above all, a new starting point. It is the symbol of TEAMNETWORK Albatro pride, of a winning Syracuse, of a Sicilian sporting scene asserting itself with determination and quality.
The story goes on. With the same vision, the same commitment and the same values that have put Syracuse back on top of Italian handball.
