As part of the PON REACT EU programme, Teamnetwork srl will work with the University of Catania on an ambitious project aimed at converting the CO2 emissions of industrial processes into high value-added substances, using processes based on renewable energy.
The project will seek to develop reactions inspired by the basic principle of green chemistry, avoiding polluting solvents and catalysts and keeping energy consumption low, in order to convert the CO2 emissions of industrial processes into chemical products. The use of innovative nanocatalysts, obtained exclusively through sustainable procedures, will be examined in depth.
The research will be carried out using experimental techniques and equipment suited to the synthesis of low molecular weight chemical and polymeric substances. In particular, a method will be developed to couple CO2 with diols or epoxides to form polycarbonates.
